Ann Chebii

Ann is a married mother whose husband works in a farm and earns a little money; however he brings none of his wages back to the family but uses them to supply his drinking habit. Moreover, Ann sometimes suffers from domestic violence from her husband. Their children go to school, but Ann struggles to pay the school fees.
Ann gets some food for the family from relatives’ farms, and they eat mainly potatoes, sukuma and ugali about three evenings a week. They live in a house consisting of two rooms and a kitchen which offers little protection, getting water from the river and using tin lamps for lighting.
