She divorced her husband due to him physically abusing her when he got drunk.
Since she got divorced, her husband has never supported the family.
Nancy’s children go to primary and secondary schools, but Nancy struggles to pay the school fees.
Nancy receives some food from her neighbors’ farms but the family eats in the evenings only.
Their diet is potatoes, maize and Ugali.
They live in a 3 room house with a kitchen, however this offers little protection and they have to use a well for water and tin lamps for light.
