Jane is a single mother.
Her husband married another woman and left the family.
Since Jane got divorced, her husband has never supported the family.
Jane’s 4 children go to primary school, but Jane struggles to pay the school fees.
Jane does casual work as a cleaner and receives some food from the houses she cleans.
The family eat only three evenings a week, mostly Ugali and sometimes maize.
They live in a house without a kitchen, however this offers little protection and they have to use their neighbors’ wells for water and tin lamps for light.
